Outlook 2016
Table of Contents
Start Microsoft Outlook, then click the “FILE” menu.
On the Account Information screen, click the “Add Account” button
On the Welcome screen, enter your email address, click “Advanced options”, tick the “Let me set up my account manually” box, then click “Connect”.
When asked to “Choose account type”, choose either POP3 or IMAP depending on your preference.
On the Account settings screen, make the following changes:
- In the Incoming and Outgoing server boxes, enter your email server address.
Your email server address is “mail.” followed by your domain-name. E.g. if your domain name is example.com you would enter mail.example.com here. - Change both the Encryption Method boxes to “STARTTLS”
- If you’re setting up an IMAP account, change the “Incoming Mail Port” to 143. Alternatively, if you’re setting up a POP3 account, change the “Incoming Mail Port” to 110.
- Change the “Outgoing Mail Port” to 587
- Click “Next”
Enter the password for your mailbox and then click “Connect”.
If you see a “Internet Security Warning” box, when asked “Do you want to continue using this server?” click the “Yes” button.
Your account setup is now complete. Click the “Ok” button to finish.
